Librarian chic to movie geek, featuring Warby Parker

If you know me well I often wear my glasses. (Talk about a blog post to do! Wow the glasses from age 9 until now would indeed be interesting.)  My first pair reminded me of fruity pebbles cereal, multicolored and well, embarrassing.

When I first fell in love with style I began updating my accessories too. Glasses can make a world of difference.  I am thrilled to have teamed up with Warby Parker on the below collaboration.

Warby Parker and I have teamed up for a fashionable blog post with chic glasses (because you really can be chic and wear glasses- all the fabulous ladies do)!  And- most importantly?  They’re affordable, chic and GIVING BACK is important to them.  Check out their ” Buy a pair, Give a pair” campaign http://www.warbyparker.com/do-good/#home

Suiting Up, Going Out!

We would all love to have hours and hours to plan our outfits, but the truth is that life sometimes catches us off guard. Suddenly, there are a ton of opportunities for us to explore and not all that much time to do it! If you have ever found yourself confronted by everything in your closet when your friends and family are ready to go, you know that it is always a good idea to have some outfits that are ready to go. What kind of outfits can you plan if you want to step out, whether it is day or night?

Study Date
Sometimes you get to play, but sometimes, you need to work. Whether you are off to the library to spend some time with the books, or you are off to go meet a sweet possible significant other, you want to look nice for your study date. Studying calls to mind librarians, and a certain amount of librarian-chic is always lovely when you have to hit the books. Start with a pencil skirt, black stockings and chunky heels for the bottom, and choose a short-sleeved button down and a soft cardigan for the top. To emphasize the librarian-chic look, do your hair in a bun if you usually wear it down, and add a pair of thick-framed eyeglasses to complete the look.

Movie Date
When you are ready to take a break and dial things back a bit, there are always a number of movies to be seen, and that is why the movie date is so popular. A great movie date is a fantastic choice for a couple that is just getting to know each other, and when you head out for a date like this, the key is to keep it simple, but classy. For example, take a moment to think about throwing on a pair of trendy sneakers, a pair of tight-fitting blue jeans, and soft, slightly oversized sweater. Throw on a very thin scarf wound several times around your neck to give your outfit some length and some motion, and add a pair of your favorite movie critic inspired glasses for this one!

If you want to make sure that you have something to wear no matter what, remember that planning ahead is key. This allows you to make the right kind of decisions and to always go out looking your best!
